Po­lice are prob­ing the death of a 35-year-old woman whose body was found in Care­nage on Sat­ur­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said res­i­dents of L'Anse Mi­tan, Care­nage, were asleep when they heard nois­es out­side their home at around 7.20 am.

One woman checked out­side short­ly af­ter and saw the body of Leean Slater, ly­ing face down in a pud­dle.

Care­nage po­lice vis­it­ed the area with a dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer who de­clared Slater dead.

Po­lice from the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion I are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
