A 39-year-old woman was escorted back to a business place by security guards who caught her stealing money from a cash register on Friday night.
Police said the woman was at a sports bar on Woodford Street, Arima, around 7 pm when she walked to the cash register and stole $4,000 before leaving.
Security guards saw the incident and escorted her back to the establishment, where they called the police.
The woman was arrested and taken to Arima Police Station, where she was questioned.
Officers of the Arima CID viewed CCTV footage and recorded statements from the owners about the theft.
In a separate incident, also on Friday night, a 20-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint while walking to his Bon Air home.
Police said the man was walking on Unity Circular, Bon Air North at 11.30 pm when he was confronted by two men, one of whom had a gun.
The man was beaten and his cellphone and $600 cash stolen.
