A woman at­tempt­ing to board a Caribbean Air­lines flight to St Kitts was ar­rest­ed at Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port af­ter au­thor­i­ties found co­caine and cash on her.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, at 10:55 a.m. on Mon­day, April 6, 2026, a Woman Es­tate Con­sta­ble op­er­at­ing a scan­ner at a se­cu­ri­ty check­point no­ticed anom­alies when a fe­male Trinida­di­an na­tion­al from Care­nage passed through the ma­chine.

The of­fi­cer con­duct­ed a phys­i­cal search in a des­ig­nat­ed screen­ing room, where a pink bal­loon strapped around the woman’s waist was dis­cov­ered. It con­tained 17 pel­lets of co­caine, to­tal­ing 281.5 grammes.

Dur­ing a search of her car­ry-on bag, of­fi­cers al­so re­cov­ered US$5,189 and TT$30.

The woman was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the drugs and cash. Po­lice have con­firmed that in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
