A woman was robbed of $3,000 in cash and a quantity of jewellery on Wednesday evening, minutes after leaving a casino in Port-of-Spain.
The victim reportedly walked out of the Diamond Casino, Independence Square North around 6.30 pm – and walked to Charlotte Street, just as the suspect grabbed her bag and ran off.
The bag reportedly contained $3,000 cash; two gold beras with her name on each; one gold pendant; one iPhone 13; two cheques from the Social Welfare Development; one set of keys; and other personal items.
Bandit steals steaks and wine from Cascade home
A bandit who broke into the home of a Cascade resident eventually treated himself to “fine meal” on Wednesday, after stealing two steaks and a bottle of wine.
The victim secured his home and left for work around 9 am.
Upon returning around 7.30 pm, he was informed by the caretaker that someone had broken into the house after prying open the back door.
Upon checking, the victim realised two steaks valued at $400; along with a bottle of wine valued at $300 were missing.
