A woman was robbed of $3,000 in cash and a quan­ti­ty of jew­ellery on Wednes­day evening, min­utes af­ter leav­ing a casi­no in Port-of-Spain.

The vic­tim re­port­ed­ly walked out of the Di­a­mond Casi­no, In­de­pen­dence Square North around 6.30 pm – and walked to Char­lotte Street, just as the sus­pect grabbed her bag and ran off.

The bag re­port­ed­ly con­tained $3,000 cash; two gold be­ras with her name on each; one gold pen­dant; one iPhone 13; two cheques from the So­cial Wel­fare De­vel­op­ment; one set of keys; and oth­er per­son­al items.

Ban­dit steals steaks and wine from Cas­cade home

A ban­dit who broke in­to the home of a Cas­cade res­i­dent even­tu­al­ly treat­ed him­self to “fine meal” on Wednes­day, af­ter steal­ing two steaks and a bot­tle of wine.

The vic­tim se­cured his home and left for work around 9 am.

Up­on re­turn­ing around 7.30 pm, he was in­formed by the care­tak­er that some­one had bro­ken in­to the house af­ter pry­ing open the back door.

Up­on check­ing, the vic­tim re­alised two steaks val­ued at $400; along with a bot­tle of wine val­ued at $300 were miss­ing.
