A St Made­line woman was robbed of $40,000 in cash on Wednes­day night in Port-of-Spain.

The 44-year-old vic­tim re­port­ed­ly got in­to a car which had been parked along the St James Taxi Stand, Hart Street, around 11 pm.

Fol­low­ing this, a man got in­to the car on the left rear pas­sen­ger side and as the woman in­di­cat­ed she was get­ting out, the sus­pect snatched her bag and ran out the ve­hi­cle.

The man ran lat­er dis­ap­peared in­to the Drag Mall on Fred­er­ick Street.

The bag re­port­ed­ly con­tained $40,000 in cash, a Sam­sung A55 cell­phone val­ued at $3,000 and her purse con­tain­ing bank cards, dri­ver’s per­mit and na­tion­al iden­ti­fi­ca­tion card.
