Police are investigating a shooting incident in East Port-of-Spain where a woman was wounded.
According to a police report, at 7.30 pm on Thursday officers of the Port of Spain Task Force responded to a report of shooting in progress at Harpe Place.
The officers subsequently went the to Port of Spain General Hospital where they met a man from Mountain View Road in Maracas, St Joseph who told them that at about 7.05 pm he was parked on Observatory Street in vicinity of Harpe Place when he heard several gunshots.
He said when he looked for his common-law wife, a 39-year-old woman from Harpe Place, who was seated in the front seat of his vehicle he found her bleeding from gunshot wounds.
Police said the woman is currently warded at hospital.
