Bar owner Shanti Kalpath, 60, was hit a heavy blow when high winds blew the roof off from her residence and bar around midnight on Tuesday.

Kalpana said she heard a loud rushing and clanging sound, only to discover the roof had fallen on her neighbour's pick-up truck to the east of her house, at Maha Sabha Street, Felicity Chaguanas.

Kalpana said since the closure of bars by the Government to prevent the spread of COVID-19, she has no income coming in.

She told Guardian Media she had contacted Mayor Faaiq Mohammed to see if the Chaguanas Borough Corporation could render any assistance.
