A Woodland man was robbed of $2,500 in cash when he went to purchase two cattle that had been advertised for sale in an online group called Bulls and Cows of Trinidad and Tobago.
The 25-year-old of Jackson Trace, Woodland, told police he drove his white Nissan Frontier to Pangola Road, Point Fortin, around 9:30 am on October 24, to meet with two men relating to the sale of the animals.
The victim claimed the sale had been finalised around 7:30 pm on October 23, via communications on Facebook and WhatsApp.
Upon arrival at the location, the victim met two African males, following which one pulled out a gun and announced a robbery.
The unarmed man took the victim’s purple Samsung A15 cellphone valued at $1,500; following which he searched the van and found $2,400 in cash, in the victim’s wallet which had been stashed under the passenger seat.
The suspects later fled on foot and disappeared into some bushes.
