T&T cyclists failed to medal as Akil Campbell was ninth and Enrique De Comarmond, 15th in the Elite Men's category when the Caribbean Road Cycling Championship took place along the Heroes Highway, East Bank Demerara in Guyana, Sunday.
Cory Williams of Belize was the winner of the event in 3:46:07 followed by Dominican Republic's Jesus Cespedes and Guyana's Briton John for the silver and bronze medals respectively while Campbell was ninth, in 3:46:46, and De Comarmond, 15th in 4:00.08.
In the Under-23 Division, T&T's Liam Trepte was fifth in 3:56:50 to trail Cuban Randol Rodriguez (3:46:07) while countryman Tariq Woods finished in the seventh spot in 3:49:39.
On Saturday, Trepte just missed out on a medal when he was fourth in the men's Individual Time Trial in 46 minutes and 58.88 seconds.
Puerto Rican Christopher Morales rode to the gold medal in 43:16.59 followed by Bermudan Nicholas Narraway (43:18.52) and Martinique's Mathis Risal (45:11.94).
