Campbell rides to ninth spot in Guyana

T&T cy­clists failed to medal as Ak­il Camp­bell was ninth and En­rique De Co­mar­mond, 15th in the Elite Men's cat­e­go­ry when the Caribbean Road Cy­cling Cham­pi­onship took place along the He­roes High­way, East Bank De­mer­ara in Guyana, Sun­day.

Cory Williams of Be­lize was the win­ner of the event in 3:46:07 fol­lowed by Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's Je­sus Ce­s­pedes and Guyana's Briton John for the sil­ver and bronze medals re­spec­tive­ly while Camp­bell was ninth, in 3:46:46, and De Co­mar­mond, 15th in 4:00.08.

In the Un­der-23 Di­vi­sion, T&T's Liam Trepte was fifth in 3:56:50 to trail Cuban Ran­dol Ro­driguez (3:46:07) while coun­try­man Tariq Woods fin­ished in the sev­enth spot in 3:49:39.

On Sat­ur­day, Trepte just missed out on a medal when he was fourth in the men's In­di­vid­ual Time Tri­al in 46 min­utes and 58.88 sec­onds.

Puer­to Ri­can Christo­pher Morales rode to the gold medal in 43:16.59 fol­lowed by Bermu­dan Nicholas Nar­raway (43:18.52) and Mar­tinique's Math­is Risal (45:11.94).
