Chin Lee takes U-12 title

Abi­gail Chin Lee fol­lowed up on her suc­cess­es in the Methanol Hold­ing Ju­nior Ten­nis tour­na­ment last year in the un­der-10 di­vi­sion by claim­ing the ti­tle in the Girls Sin­gles Un­der-12 cat­e­go­ry of the Lease Op­er­a­tors Ten­nis Tour­na­ment at the Coun­try Club Mar­aval on Sun­day.

Un­der rainy skies, Chin Lee the num­ber one seed, clob­bered Eva Pasea in straight sets in the fi­nal 4-0, 4-0 on court four, and hard­ly broke a sweat in the process.

Lat­er Chin Lee teamed up with her sis­ter Inara Chin Lee, to take the girls Un­der-12 dou­bles crown by beat­ing the pair of Pasea and Kate Broughton 4-2, 4-1.

The Boys' Un­der-12 sin­gles ti­tle was sewed up by Mar­cos West who eked out a 4-3, 4-2 tri­umph against Isa­iah Box­ill.

On a day of fi­nals, Josi­ah Hills was the first to put his hand on a sil­ver­ware at stake, when he de­feat­ed Za­kariyya Mo­hammed 5-3, 3-5, 10-8 for the boys' Un­der-10 ti­tle.

In oth­er fi­nals- Gabriel­la Prince took care of Shiloh Walk­er for the girls Un­der-10 sin­gles 4-2, 4-5, 10-8: Beck­ham Sylvester tri­umphed over James Had­den 6-1, 7-6(3) for the boys Un­der-14 sin­gles: Se­bas­t­ian Sylvester bat­tled to a hard-fought 7-6(5), 2-6, 10-6 vic­to­ry over Ethan Wong for the boys Un­der-16 ti­tle: Aal­isha Alex­is got the edge over Is­abel Abra­ham 6-2, 6-4.

Mean­while, in the round-robin u-18 play-off, Os­eny­onye N'woko­lo earned an easy walk-over vic­to­ry over Kim­ber­ly Sab­ga to se­cure the over­all girls sin­gles win, ahead of Abi­gail Jones. In the boys equiv­a­lent, Lu­ca Sham­si was the over­all win­ner, de­spite not tak­ing the courts yes­ter­day.
