All rounder Mark Deyal was in fine form with the ball for Titans on the opening day of the USA T10 International Premier League at the Central Broward Regional Park in Sunrise, Florida.
The T&T off-spinner showed up big time claiming 3/11 to take his team to a big victory over Bangladesh in the opening match. Titans skipper T&T'sRayad Emrit won the toss and decided to insert the opposition. On a belter of a batting track, they struggled and lost wickets at regular intervals.
The right arm off-spinner Deyal broke the back of their batting, snaring three quick wickets to bowl out Bangladesh for just 58 in 9.3 overs. Emrit was also good and took 2/9 off his two overs.
When Titans batted they found the going easy and despite the loss of Guyanese Trevon Griffith for 12 off seven balls, they still got home easily at 59/1 in 5.5 overs. The man guiding them home was the Jamaican Chadwick Walton who scored an unbeaten 32 off just 17 balls.
Speaking to CricScope after the match, the Caribbean Premier League's St Lucia Kings player Deyal said: “My bowling has been coming along nicely. I now see myself as an all-rounder and has been putting in a lot of work with my bowling. I am very happy with the return and looking to continue doing well for my team at this tournament.”
