The Trinbago Knight Riders will have to go for their hat-trick of Hero Caribbean Premier League titles this season without inspirational skipper Dwayne Bravo.

Bravo made the announcement during the team’s match against the Jamaica Tallawahs on Friday night at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port-of-Spain, a match which TKR eventually went on to win by 22 runs.

Appearing as a guest commentator with the TV team as the TKR were batting against the Tallawahs, Bravo announced that the injury he suffered to his left hand would keep him out of action for the next two months.

He said following recent surgery on the middle finger of his left hand, his doctors have since advised him he would need eight weeks to fully recuperate.

"The next aim for me is rehab to try to get my fingers moving again, it is going to be a long process...I will back playing competitive cricket in about two months' time," Bravo told the commentary time sitting with him at the time.

Kieron Pollard is currently deputising for Bravo. He was selected to lead the TKR after it was announced last week that Bravo would be out with the injury. However, when that announcement was made, the TKR management had indicated that Bravo would miss a significant part of the tournament as opposed to the entire series.

This will be the first time in his career that Bravo will be unable to line up with the Knight Riders in the CPL.

Bravo’s younger brother Darren is also currently sidelined by injury. He is still awaiting clearance from the doctors to play after suffering a concussion during the West Indies recent test match against India.
