GEORGE­TOWN – The Guyana Crick­et Board (GCB) has an­nounced a 13-man squad for the Guyana Harpy Ea­gles’ fi­nal two rounds of the 2025 West In­dies Cham­pi­onships, with key changes fol­low­ing the ab­sence of star spin­ner Gu­dakesh Motie, who has fran­chise crick­et com­mit­ments and open­er Tage­nar­ine Chan­der­paul, who is said to be car­ry­ing an in­jury.

In their place, the se­lec­tors have brought in left-arm spin­ner Ash­mead Nedd, who will be mak­ing his first ap­pear­ance this sea­son and re­called promis­ing fast bowler Isai Thorne, whose in­clu­sion is ex­pect­ed to strength­en the team’s push for cru­cial fast-bowl­ing points.

The Harpy Ea­gles will again bow in­to ac­tion on April 2 against the Lee­ward Is­lands Hur­ri­canes at Warn­er Park, St. Kitts, be­fore clos­ing the tour­na­ment against Trinidad and To­ba­go Red Force at home in the sev­enth and fi­nal round.

The Harpy Ea­gles cur­rent­ly lead the West In­dies Cham­pi­onship 2025 points ta­ble with 102.6 points af­ter five rounds, main­tain­ing a slim lead over the Trinidad & To­ba­go Red Force, which has 101.

The Lee­ward Is­lands Hur­ri­canes sit in third place with 79.6 points, round­ing off the top three. Bar­ba­dos Pride, Ja­maica Scor­pi­ons, Wind­ward Is­lands Vol­ca­noes, Com­bined Cam­pus­es and Col­leges, and West In­dies Acad­e­my com­plete the stand­ings in that or­der.
