GEORGETOWN – The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has announced a 13-man squad for the Guyana Harpy Eagles’ final two rounds of the 2025 West Indies Championships, with key changes following the absence of star spinner Gudakesh Motie, who has franchise cricket commitments and opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul, who is said to be carrying an injury.
In their place, the selectors have brought in left-arm spinner Ashmead Nedd, who will be making his first appearance this season and recalled promising fast bowler Isai Thorne, whose inclusion is expected to strengthen the team’s push for crucial fast-bowling points.
The Harpy Eagles will again bow into action on April 2 against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at Warner Park, St. Kitts, before closing the tournament against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force at home in the seventh and final round.
The Harpy Eagles currently lead the West Indies Championship 2025 points table with 102.6 points after five rounds, maintaining a slim lead over the Trinidad & Tobago Red Force, which has 101.
The Leeward Islands Hurricanes sit in third place with 79.6 points, rounding off the top three. Barbados Pride, Jamaica Scorpions, Windward Islands Volcanoes, Combined Campuses and Colleges, and West Indies Academy complete the standings in that order.
Full squad: Captain: Tevin Imlach, Vice-Captain: Kemol Savory, Raymond Perez, Matthew Nandu, Kevlon Anderson, Kevin Sinclair, Ronaldo Alimohamed, Keemo Paul, Nial Smith, Veerasammy Permaul, Ashmead Nedd, Isai Thorne, Richie Looknauth.
