Teague Marcano improved his league-best tally while older sibling Tariq Marcano was also on target in a losing effort as St Albans went under to Chichester 2-3 in their latest England Hockey League Conference East clash on Sunday.
The younger of the brothers, Teague opened the scoring in the seventh minute from a penalty-corner set play, but Chichester replied through Oscar Pacey in the 16th minute and Alex Holton found the net on the stroke of half-time for a 2-1 lead.
Ten minutes into the second-half, however, Tariq got St Albans back on level terms when he scored from a penalty-stroke. But with four minutes left on the clock, Ollie Baxter snatched a winner for Chichester, who moved into the fourth spot with 18 points from nine matches, level with third-placed Spenceron the table. St Albans slipped a spot to fifth with 16 points from ten matches, 12 behind unbeaten leaders Wapping, while Cambridge sits second with 22 from ten matches as well.
In the Premier Division, former T&T player and current assistant England men’s coach Kwandwane Browne and defending champions Hampstead & Westminster go into the Christmas break in the third spot after a 4-3 triumph against Brooklands Manchester.
Hampstead & Westminster now have 25 points from 12 matches, 11 adrift of Surbiton, who are yet to drop a point, while Wimbledon are second with 27 points from 13 matches and Old Georgians fourth with 25.
