Mya Martin and Jerome Barclay were presented with their prizes when the Arima North Secondary School 5K held its awards ceremony on Monday at school.
The race took place on February 27. Barclay emerged champion in 19 minutes 11 seconds with Josiah Goodridge finishing second in 19:18 and Ryan Dabreau placing third in 19:59. Among the females, Martin was the champion in 26:13, with Tianna Daniel (26:16) in second place and Shiphara Lewis (30:16) in third place.
The race featured students and teachers of the school (formerly Arima Senior Comprehensive School) and the top teachers were Peter Lewis, who clocked 21 minutes and 27 seconds and Sandy Subero, who returned a time of 29 minutes and 33 seconds.
The race started at the school and coursed West on the Arima Old Rd, South on Cleaver Rd, East on the Eastern Main Rd, North on Beckles Lane and back to the school.
