Mya Mar­tin and Jerome Bar­clay were pre­sent­ed with their prizes when the Ari­ma North Sec­ondary School 5K held its awards cer­e­mo­ny on Mon­day at school.

The race took place on Feb­ru­ary 27. Bar­clay emerged cham­pi­on in 19 min­utes 11 sec­onds with Josi­ah Goodridge fin­ish­ing sec­ond in 19:18 and Ryan Dabreau plac­ing third in 19:59. Among the fe­males, Mar­tin was the cham­pi­on in 26:13, with Tian­na Daniel (26:16) in sec­ond place and Shiphara Lewis (30:16) in third place.

The race fea­tured stu­dents and teach­ers of the school (for­mer­ly Ari­ma Se­nior Com­pre­hen­sive School) and the top teach­ers were Pe­ter Lewis, who clocked 21 min­utes and 27 sec­onds and Sandy Subero, who re­turned a time of 29 min­utes and 33 sec­onds.

The race start­ed at the school and coursed West on the Ari­ma Old Rd, South on Cleaver Rd, East on the East­ern Main Rd, North on Beck­les Lane and back to the school.
