The see-saw movement at the top of the 12-team standings in Tier 1 of the T&T Premier Football League, continuedwith Club Sando’s stay lasting just for 24 hours following Sunday’s round of matches.
This, after Miscellaneous Police FC, recently knocked off the top by Club Sando FC on Saturday, regained the lead position again, courtesy of a 3-2 triumph of Caledonia AIA at the Mahaica Oval in Point Fortin.
The prolific Mickaeel “Jem” Gordon (42nd minute) and Joshua Sitney (45th minute) scored late in the first half for a 2-0 lead at the break for the Policemen.
However, Shakir Jones pulled a goal back in the 66th, and after a period of persistence, they were rewarded with the equaliser in the 70th minute of play.
Former national midfielder Joevin Jones rescued the Lawmen with a penalty at the death, coming in the 90+3 minute. The result fired the policemen back to the top of the standings with 19 points, one more than Club Sando and three more than Prison Services FC on 16 points.
