DURHAM – West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach made his presence felt for Durham on the opening day of their Division Two clash against Kent in the Rothesay County Championship in England on Friday.
Playing at the Riverside Ground, Roach scored 21 runs batting at number 11, as Durham were dismissed for a competitive 335 in 77.4 overs.
The Barbadian shared a 45-run partnership for the last wicket with Kasey Aldridge, which carried the home side from 290 for nine to their eventual total.
Durham was led by a knock of 128 from Emilio Gay, while Aldridge scored an unbeaten 44.
Roach then returned to snare the wicket of Ben Compton, as Kent ended the day on 50 for two.
The wily veteran pacer trapped Compton lbw for four in his very first over and the first of the innings to put them on the backfoot.
