BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Two-time defending champions Settlers will battle with Warriors in their chase for a third consecutive BIM10 cricket title.
Both Settlers and Warriors recorded thrilling victories over the Pelicans and Titans respectively in their semifinal clashes at the Windward Cricket Ground on Saturday.
Settlers needed heroic efforts from Zachery Carter and captain Nicholas Kirton to get past Pelicans by seven wickets off the penultimate ball of the match.
The defending champs slipped to 30 for three before Carter, who thumped 40 from 19 balls and Kirton, who smashed 37 from 20 balls, added an unbroken 81 runs for the fourth wicket to carry them to 111 for three off 9.5 overs in pursuit of Pelicans’ 109 for six.
In the day’s second match, Titans would have been pleased with their efforts after Raymon Reifer’s 68 from 31 balls and Carlos Maynard’s 33 off 16 balls propeled them to a formidable 136 for four from their 10 overs.
However, Yvan Grant blasted 38 off 15 balls, captain Jonathan Carter hit 30 from 11 balls and Kemar Smith, who scored an unbeaten 29 from eight balls, hit the winning runs off the last ball of the match to carry the Warriors to 140 for five to give them a five-wicket victory.
