St Benedict’s, Fatima move to U-16 Trinidad final

Fa­ti­ma Col­lege Un­der-16 foot­ball team made a gi­ant step to­ward fol­low­ing in the foot­steps of their se­niors on Sat­ur­day by seal­ing a place in­to the Trinidad Leg of the tour­na­ment fi­nal.

Play­ing in the Na­tion­al un­der-16 semi­fi­nals at home, the Mu­cu­rapo Road lads ham­mered their coun­ter­parts from Ari­ma North Sec­ondary 5-0 for the right face St Bene­dict’s Col­lege in the Trinidad fi­nal on No­vem­ber 25 at Fa­ti­ma Ground.

On Sat­ur­day, the Fa­ti­ma boys were un­stop­pable with goals com­ing from Jonathan Ma­son, Cadon Tre­strail, Tom De­cle, Jeda­iah King, and Ja­haem Bai­ley.

The win en­sured that Fa­ti­ma con­tin­ued their un­beat­en run for the sea­son, while Ari­ma North had now lost for the first time all sea­son.

Al­so on Sat­ur­day, South­ern­ers St Bene­dict’s Col­lege booked a place in the Trinidad fi­nal by de­mol­ish­ing Ch­agua­nas North Sec­ondary 7-2 at the Ed­in­burgh 500 Recre­ation Ground in Ch­agua­nas.

The win­ner of the Trinidad zone will take on the win­ner of To­ba­go at a date to be de­ter­mined.

In To­ba­go, both Spey­side High and Sig­nal Hill are lev­el on 12 points each af­ter four match­es.

Both teams will square off on No­vem­ber 24 to de­cide the win­ner of the To­ba­go zone that will face the win­ner from the Trinidad leg of the com­pe­ti­tion.
