Defending champion St. Joseph’s Convent (Port-of-Spain) and Diego Martin Central Secondary will meet in the North Zone Secondary Schools Girls Football League Coca-Cola Inter-Col at the Diego Martin Sporting Complex, Diego Martin Thursday from 3.30 pm.
This after both teams registered comfortable wins in their respective rescheduled semifinal matches on Tuesday.
At St Mary’s College Ground, Serpentine Road, Rori Gitten scored a hat-trick to fire St. Joseph’s Convent (PoS) to a commanding 5-1 spanking of rival Bishop Anstey High School (PoS).
Gittens found the back of the net as early as the third and tenth minutes for a 2-0 lead before Gabrielle Jackson pulled one back in the 27th minute for Bishop’s Anstey to trail 2-1, but Kaitlyn Darwent then restored St. Joseph’s Convent’s two-goal cushion in the 35th minute before Coliya Harris made it 4-1 in the 38th comfortable advantage at the half-time interval of the 80-minute contest.
Three minutes into the second half, Gittens completed her hat-trick to push the margin to 5-1, after which the goals dried up with Bishop’s Anstey putting up a much more solid defensive effort to stop the flow of goals.
Down at the Diego Martin North Secondary Ground, Mariah Willaism also helped herself to a hat-trick in leading Diego Martin Central Secondary to a 3-0 win over Tranquillity Secondary.
