Ryan Radel­lant and Aadil Ab­dul-Ha­keem both scored beaver tricks to lead a ram­pant St Mary’s Col­lege to a 19-0 maul­ing of Bel­mont Sec­ondary in their pre­lim­i­nary round clash to kick off the North Zone Sec­ondary Schools Foot­ball League Co­ca-Co­la In­ter-Col at St Mary’s Col­lege Ground, Ser­pen­tine Road, St Clair on Mon­day.

Radel­lant got his goals in the 17th, 21st, 25th, and 45th min­utes while Ab­dul-Ha­keem found the back of the net in the 55th, 71st, 83rd, and 90+1 min­utes in the lop­sided con­test with Eli­jah Wong (14th, 33rd, 53rd) and cap­tain Kyle Phillip (38th, 42nd, 88th) adding hat tricks.

There were al­so two goals each for Kris­t­ian James (50th & 59th), and Jae­den Bobb (57th & 74th) with Du­san Coop­er, the oth­er scor­er in the 35th as they stormed in­to the quar­ter­fi­nals where they will bat­tle East Mu­cu­rapo Sec­ondary at Queen’s Roy­al Col­lege Ground on Fri­day from 3.30 pm.

Al­so yes­ter­day, not far away at Queen’s Roy­al Col­lege Ground, host QRC got hat tricks from Mic­ah Nel­son, and Mus­sadiq Mo­hammed in an 11-0 ham­mer­ing of Diego Mar­tin Cen­tral Sec­ondary.

The quin­tet of Ker­ry Bap­tiste Jr, Tau Lam­see, Zion Ab­erdeen, Philip Nel­son, and Jay­den Christophe chipped in with a goal each for the Roy­alians to set up a zon­al quar­ter­fi­nal en­counter with Mal­ick Sec­ondary on Fri­day at St An­tho­ny’s Col­lege Ground, West­moor­ings.

In the oth­er North pre­lim­i­nary round match host Blan­chisseuse Sec­ondary got a sec­ond-half strike from Aaron Mar­cano to edge Mu­cu­rapo West Sec­ondary 1-0 and will next face St An­tho­ny’s Col­lege at Fa­ti­ma Col­lege Ground, Mu­cu­rapo Road, al­so on Fri­day.

Re­cent­ly crowned Na­tion­al Sec­ondary Schools Foot­ball League (SS­FL) Pre­mier­ship Di­vi­sion cham­pi­ons Fa­ti­ma will kick off the de­fense of their Na­tion­al In­ter-Col crown in the North Zone quar­ter­fi­nal round on Fri­day against the win­ner of the pre­lim­i­nary round clash be­tween Trin­i­ty Col­lege and Tran­quil­li­ty Sec­ondary School which will be played to­day at Mo­ka, Mar­aval from 3:30 pm af­ter it was post­poned by 24 hours due to the in­clement weath­er.

In oth­er match­es yes­ter­day, El Do­ra­do West Sec­ondary got the bet­ter of Five Rivers Sec­ondary 4-2 on penal­ty kicks af­ter an en­ter­tain­ing 4-4 draw in the East Zone while in the South Zone, Siparia West Sec­ondary blanked Princes Town West Sec­ondary 3-0, and Point Fortin East Sec­ondary bat­tled past AS­JA Boys Col­lege of San Fer­nan­do 5-4 via penal­ties af­ter a tense 1-1 dead­lock.
