Hosts T&T, Bar­ba­dos and Lee­ward Is­lands all reg­is­tered suc­ces­sive vic­to­ries when the CWI Ris­ing Stars Un­der-17 Men’s 50-over Cham­pi­onship con­tin­ued on Thurs­day.

At the Na­tion­al Crick­et Cen­tre: The home side strolled to a com­fort­able 91-run win over Ja­maica, al­so via the Duck­worth/Lewis/Stern (DLS)method..

Af­ter be­ing sent in to bat, T&T to­taled 232 for nine, af­ter rain re­duced their in­nings to 49 overs.

Open­er Saleem Khan hit the top score of 48, but T&T were helped by use­ful con­tri­bu­tions from Za­ckary Stew­art (34), Am­rit Pit­ti­man (27 not out), Re­nal­do Fournil­li­er (23) and Chris­tiano Ra­manan, who made 21.

For Ja­maica Ryan Lit­tle­ton took 3-29, Adri­an Sil­vera 2-40 and An­drew Lloyd 2-46.

The vis­i­tors were then let down by their bat­ting on their way to be­ing dis­missed for a pal­try 141 in 35.3 overs.

Odane Bins made 42 and De­mar­co Scott 41, but af­ter the for­mer was dis­missed to leave Ja­maica 98 for three, the rest of the in­nings crum­bled, with on­ly one oth­er bat­ter reach­ing dou­ble fig­ures.

T&T pro­duced a well-bal­anced bowl­ing at­tack with Daron Dhan­raj tak­ing 3-28, while Rober­to Badree (2-12), Ra’ed Ali Khan (2-18) and Daniel Hold­er (2-41) took two wick­ets apiece.

At In­shan Ali Park: Bar­ba­dos trounced the Wind­ward Is­lands by 107 runs in a lop­sided con­test to send them crash­ing to their sec­ond straight loss.

Raphael Lovell and Jor­dan Gra­ham both nar­row­ly missed out on half cen­turies, as Bar­ba­dos com­piled 220 in their 50 overs af­ter be­ing sent in to bat.

Lovell made 47, while open­er Gra­ham scored 45, but Bar­ba­dos suf­fered a col­lapse that saw them slip from 90 for one to 115 for five in the 31st over.

They were res­cued by an 83-run part­ner­ship be­tween Justin Par­ris, who made 33 and Lovell, which took them close to the 200-run mark be­fore both lost their wick­ets in the space of four balls.

El­ran Glas­gow (3-29) was the Wind­wards’ best bowler while Cody Fontinelle (2-37), Ar­avin­da Bish­op (2-39) and Tyler Ven­ner (2-43) pro­vid­ed sup­port.

The Wind­ward Is­lands got a de­cent start in their run chase and were 60 for one at one stage, be­fore los­ing their last nine wick­ets for the ad­di­tion of on­ly 53 runs.

Medi­um pac­er Jahi­di Hinds was the main de­stroy­er with 4-8 and Par­ris topped off a fine all-round game by claim­ing 2-9.

At Gilbert Park: Led by half cen­turies from open­ers Tanez Fran­cis and Amoree Jones, the Lee­ward Is­lands cruised to a 55-run win over Guyana via the DLS method.

Skip­per Fran­cis top­scored with 74 off 99 balls, while Jones made 52 from 74 balls, as Lee­ward Is­lands com­piled 227 for six from their 50 overs.

The pair put on 110 runs for the first wick­et, but medi­um pac­er Naven­dra Sankar struck back to claim three quick wick­ets that saw them slide to 115 for three.

Hosea Roberts struck an un­beat­en 34 to steady the in­nings and Eirette Richards pro­vid­ed good sup­port in a knock of 21.

Sankar fin­ished with 3-40.

Show­ers then de­layed the start of Guyana’s in­nings, and they were even­tu­al­ly set a to­tal of 218 in 45 overs.

They got a steady start in their run chase and be­hind open­er Parmesh­war Ram’s 35, was well placed at 66 for one in the 14th over.

But Jathan Ed­ward and Ku­nal Tilokani ran through Guyana’s mid­dle or­der to leave them wob­bling on 135 for sev­en.

It was a po­si­tion they would not re­cov­er from, de­spite a fight­ing 26 from Em­manuel Lewis, and the end­ed up well short of their tar­get.

Ed­ward took 3-33 and Tilokani 2-32.
