Trinidad and To­ba­go’s na­tion­al eFoot­ball ath­letes con­clud­ed a re­ward­ing cam­paign at the FI­FAe Con­ti­nen­tal Cham­pi­onship in Mex­i­co City, led by a third-place fin­ish in the Con­sole di­vi­sion.

With this re­sult, T&T stood as the on­ly Eng­lish-speak­ing na­tion to reach the top three in the Con­sole cat­e­go­ry across North and Cen­tral Amer­i­ca in our de­but cam­paign.

Team Trinidad and To­ba­go fin­ished the group stage in sec­ond place be­hind Mex­i­co, who would pro­ceed to win the over­all com­pe­ti­tion. The Con­sole squad, com­pris­ing cap­tain Javon Charles, Michael Ram­sey, and Kwasi Crichlow, com­pet­ed from Au­gust 27-31, nav­i­gat­ing a chal­leng­ing dou­ble-elim­i­na­tion brack­et to earn third place on the re­gion­al stage. Af­ter­wards, the play­ers were all pleased with their ef­forts.

Charles said, "Ex­treme­ly proud of our ef­forts in Mex­i­co City. See­ing that this is our first in­ter­na­tion­al 2v2 com­pe­ti­tion, we showed that we be­long amongst the best in the re­gion and, by ex­ten­sion, the world. With this ex­pe­ri­ence, we can on­ly get bet­ter. With that be­ing said, this is a great op­por­tu­ni­ty for young gamers to see that you can rep­re­sent your coun­try at the high­est lev­el in es­ports."

In the Mo­bile cat­e­go­ry, held from Au­gust 26-30, the squad led by cap­tain Damus Munroe, along­side Dey­lon Reid and Mic­ah Williams, de­liv­ered a re­silient ef­fort to ad­vance through to the semi­fi­nal round against elite re­gion­al com­pe­ti­tion.

Ac­cord­ing to Munroe: "First­ly, all thanks to God for this op­por­tu­ni­ty to rep­re­sent the red, white, and black on the biggest stage in es­ports. For our de­but, I’m ex­treme­ly proud of our ef­forts. The ex­pe­ri­ence at the FI­FAe Con­ti­nen­tal Cham­pi­onship was noth­ing short of amaz­ing.

"We left with ex­pe­ri­ence and know­ing that we are very well ca­pa­ble of com­pet­ing re­gion­al­ly and in­ter­na­tion­al­ly with oth­er coun­tries. We can on­ly grow from here and get bet­ter and bet­ter; the dream is not dead, but it has just be­gun. Con­grat­u­la­tions to our con­sole coun­ter­parts for plac­ing 3rd; proud of you guys.
