The trio of T&T officials Caleb Wales, Kwinsi Williams, and Ainsley Rochard have all been appointed as referees or assistant referees for the upcoming 2023 Concacaf Nations League on March 28.

Wales has been appointed as a second referee assistant for Canada's home encounter against Honduras at BMO Field, Toronto which will see El Salvadorean Ivan Barton serve as referee, Nicaraguan Henri Pupiro as the first assistant referee, and Mexico's Enrique Santander as the fourth official.

Over in Rincon, Bonaire at the Antonio Treinidad Stadium, Williams will stand in the clash between Bonaire and Turks & Caicos as the referee with Dominican Republic's Raymundo Feliz, and Rochard as the first and second referees assistant respectively, while Suriname's Sergio Rozenhaut has been named as fourth official.

Last month, Williams was one of seven from the Caribbean who were appointed as leading officials for the 2023 Concacaf Men’s Under-17 Championship which took place from February 11-26 in Guatemala, with 20 teams.

Prior to that, he was the man in the middle for the international between the T&T Soca Warriors and Saint Martin at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, Port-of-Spain, which the host won 2-0 and also served as the fourth official in the USA and Serbia international in January at BMO Stadium, Los Angeles, California, which the visitors won 2-1 while Wales served as one of the referee assistants in the USA/Serbia encounter as well.

Earlier this year, Williams and recent Qatar FIFA World Cup match official Wales were among a list of six T&T football officials who were approved by the Pierluigi Collina-led FIFA Referees Committee, the body which appoints the referees and assistant referees for matches in competitions organised by FIFA for the 2023 international lists.

Based on the recommendations by the T&T Football Association’s Referees Department, the trio of Crystal Sobers, Cecile Hinds, and Williams were accepted as referees, while the trio of Wales, Rochard, and Evelyn Carissa Douglas-Jacob were accepted as assistant referees.

In addition to Williams, T&T’s Neal Brizan was one of eight Match Official Assessors for the Concacaf U-17 Championship.
