Vaughn Wilson won his third men's title at the Sunshine Snacks Tranquility Open Tennis Tournament on Saturday, and it came easier than he expected.

Having won the titles back in 2021 and 2022, Wilson faced top-seed Andrew Thornton of Barbados in the final at the Tranquility Courts on Victoria Avenue in Port-of-Spain, and in under two sets, Wilson was handed the title. He claimed the opening set 6-1 and was ahead in the second set when Thornton retired.

Thornton, whose wife Lee-Anne Thornton had won the triple crown (women's singles, women's doubles, mixed doubles), was hoping to receive his second title after he combined with his wife for the mixed doubles crown.

But things didn't go according to plan.

He had a decent run in the tournament with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 triumph over Keshan Moonasar in the semifinal round, taking him to Saturday's final.
