In­nis Fran­cis

Ten-year-old An­na-Lee Cado­gan rose to the chal­lenge and was crowned the sec­ond Miss Lit­tle Christ­mas Clax­ton Bay on De­cem­ber 13. Cado­gan, a pupil of the St Gabriel's RC School in San Fer­nan­do, and her sev­en oth­er lit­tle coun­ter­parts com­pet­ed in four seg­ments with a Bib­li­cal twist, at Plasiance Re­gion­al Com­plex at Plasiance Park. The pageant was man­aged by Nor­ma Bram­ble-Joseph and As­so­ciates of the First Im­pres­sion Brash and Sassy Agency.

With Christ­mas in mind, the pageant af­ford­ed the agency the chance to in­clude a seg­ment of the show rep­re­sent­ing names from the Bible. Each girl de­pict­ed a Bib­li­cal woman and her con­tri­bu­tion.

The girls dis­played their knowl­edge of each Bib­li­cal woman. The show al­so saw the con­tes­tants in­ter­pret the late pop icon, Michael Jack­son from his ear­ly child­hood ca­reer to the time of his pass­ing.

Some of Jack­son's sig­na­ture clas­sics like Rockin' Robin, ABC, Thriller, Will You be There and Beat It held the at­ten­tion of the ap­plaud­ing au­di­ence. This seg­ment was fol­lowed by a fu­sion of tal­ent in song and dance. Then, the girls pa­rad­ed in beau­ti­ful evening gowns con­sis­tent with the colours as­so­ci­at­ed with Christ­mas. In the end, Cado­gan sat on her lit­tle throne as the over­all win­ner, with An­na­lyea Daniel, Tamia To­by and Shiv­onne Nel­son as first, sec­ond and third run­ners-up, re­spec­tive­ly.

Tamia To­by: Miss Ami­ty.

Melin­da Ramdeo: Best Tal­ent.

An­na­lyea Daniel: Best Michael Jack­son Im­per­son­ation.

J-Ann Moore: Miss Pho­to­genic.
