Jeuel-Marie Green Thomp­son, rep­re­sent­ing Trinidad and To­ba­go at the Miss Caribbean World Pageant, held in the British Vir­gin Is­lands on March 27, placed in the top three in the fi­nal. Jeuel com­pet­ed in cat­e­gories which in­clud­ed Car­ni­val cos­tume, tal­ent, swim wear and evening gown. Her per­for­mance was so fan­tas­tic that she emerged sec­ond run­ner-up out of a to­tal of 15 con­tes­tants.

Com­pet­ing coun­tries in­clud­ed: An­guil­la, An­tigua & Bar­bu­da, Ba­hamas, Bar­ba­dos, British Vir­gin Is­lands, Do­mini­ca, Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic, Guyana, Ja­maica, Puer­to Ri­co, St Kitts, St Lu­cia, USA and US Vir­gin Is­lands. Lo­cal fran­chise-hold­er Patrice Melis­sa Valen­tine of Elite Pro­duc­tions said that she had every con­fi­dence that Jeuel-Marie would place amongst the top three. "Jeuel is a very de­ter­mined young woman with a pas­sion and a dri­ve for suc­cess. I be­lieve that she should have placed first though!" said Valen­tine.

Win­ning the pageant was Miss Do­mini­ca, Mar­cia Bap­tiste, fol­lowed by Miss Bar­ba­dos, Dan­nyele Te­neel Leslie. Plac­ing be­hind Jeuel were Miss USA (Mea­gan Small) and Miss USVI (Tami­ka Nicole Naris­sa Joseph).

Af­ter the show, Jeuel-Marie thanked sev­er­al peo­ple who con­tributed to her suc­cess, in­clud­ing her chap­er­one Joy Joachim, Patrice Melis­sa Valen­tine (Elite Pro­duc­tions), Di­anne Syd­ney, Kis­han & Traci (Tech­nine IT So­lu­tions Lim­it­ed), Sav­ille Row, Pure Holis­tic Health and Beau­ty Spa, Lester Rouseo, the Grell Fam­i­ly and her very sup­port­ive moth­er and fam­i­ly.
