Jeuel-Marie Green Thompson, representing Trinidad and Tobago at the Miss Caribbean World Pageant, held in the British Virgin Islands on March 27, placed in the top three in the final. Jeuel competed in categories which included Carnival costume, talent, swim wear and evening gown. Her performance was so fantastic that she emerged second runner-up out of a total of 15 contestants.
Competing countries included: Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St Kitts, St Lucia, USA and US Virgin Islands. Local franchise-holder Patrice Melissa Valentine of Elite Productions said that she had every confidence that Jeuel-Marie would place amongst the top three. "Jeuel is a very determined young woman with a passion and a drive for success. I believe that she should have placed first though!" said Valentine.
Winning the pageant was Miss Dominica, Marcia Baptiste, followed by Miss Barbados, Dannyele Teneel Leslie. Placing behind Jeuel were Miss USA (Meagan Small) and Miss USVI (Tamika Nicole Narissa Joseph).
After the show, Jeuel-Marie thanked several people who contributed to her success, including her chaperone Joy Joachim, Patrice Melissa Valentine (Elite Productions), Dianne Sydney, Kishan & Traci (Technine IT Solutions Limited), Saville Row, Pure Holistic Health and Beauty Spa, Lester Rouseo, the Grell Family and her very supportive mother and family.
