Comedian Learie Joseph has a special treat in store for the nation's mothers over the coming weekend when he provides a respite from the fierce drama of the General Elections campaign trail.
Joseph presents from today through Sunday a production entitled Everybody Loves Learie, featuring shows at the Naparima Bowl, San Fernando, this evening; Crowne Plaza, Port-of-Spain, tomorrow; and, Center Pointe Mall, Chaguanas, on Sunday. This production is specially designed for mothers, with Joseph steering away from political issues of any kind whatsoever. Joseph said he is doing this because he believes that with the happenings on the hustings being splashed all over the media and explored by fellow comedians and calypsonians, people will appreciate a break. Several new skits have been developed for Everybody Loves Learie, including one exploring how difficult it can be to recover money from people you lent it to.
Joseph will also take a new look at relationships between men and women as well as how can one please everyone when cooking.
Joining Joseph for these shows are Delores Alexander and The Saint. Popular impersonator Gary Jagrup, who will present several new personalities, is scheduled to make a special appearance. Also on the cast are The Linguist and Bernard the Enforcer, along with other surprise guests. This Mother's Day series represents the kick-off of Joseph's annual island-wide tour, which will see the entertainer visiting urban and rural communities throughout T&T. One special moment that will only be seen at this weekend's series of shows will be Joseph serenading the mothers in the audience with a very special song performed in a most unique fashion.
