Reign­ing cham­pi­on bmo­bile Joe Pub­lic will be fan­cy­ing its chances to be­come joint lead­ers with T&TEC in the bmo­bile Na­tion­al Su­per League when it faces Club San­do in a resched­uled match at Man­ny Ramjohn Sta­di­um, Mara­bel­la, from 4 pm, to­day. The Elec­tric­i­ty Boys cur­rent­ly lead the 11-team stand­ings with 21 points from nine match­es, one point ahead of for­mer cham­pi­on, WASA, while de­fend­ing cham­pi­on is next with 18 points from nine match­es, fol­lowed by 1976 Phoenix with 15 points from eight match­es.

Pub­lic, which had a slow start to the sea­son, be­ing held to draws in its first two match­es, has gained mo­men­tum as it has won five of its nine match­es, drop­ping just one. Ini­tial­ly, the clash be­tween the de­fend­ing cham­pi­on and Club San­do was card­ed for Wednes­day but it was rained out. In their pre­vi­ous match, the East­ern Li­ons ham­mered Stoke­ly Vale 7-0 while Club San­do which has not been in ac­tion in the last two weeks, will be ea­ger to get some­thing from this match.
