Last Sunday's fashion showcase entitled Panache, held at Gaston Courts in Chaguanas, enticed patrons who turned out for the event. A production of the Lions Club of Chaguanas, in collaboration with style-maker Calvin French and Caribbean Belle Magazine, the team exported elements of high-fashion presentations from the capital city into the borough, to the apparent delight of the audience.
Peter Elias, Heather Jones, Bang Bang, and Marshall's were the design houses and retail chains on show, with collections that ranged from street chic, to elegant, and of course, sexy.Marshall's set the tone for the fashion fair, followed by Peter Elias' men and women collections.
Designs from Heather Jones were exclusively women, while Bang Bang covered both sexes. But the name Bang Bang was not just about clothes on that night. Shoes and accessories were provided by its subsidiaries, Blaanix and 212 Location, respectively. The weekend fashion experience was reputed to the first of its kind in Chaguanas, a claim that if proven true, would ascribe much credit to district Lions Club.
Billed as a charity affair, Panache was a sold-out event from which proceeds would go towards the club's community development initiatives.Kudos go out to the choice sound designer from runway guru Nigel Celestine. It was nothing short of amazing that patrons held their seats when one considered the upward vibe he created.
Having secured the services of Kirk Thomas, the Caribbean Fashion Awards Best Make-up Artist 2010, no one should have been surprised by the models glamoured look on the runway. Kerry Salon Studio was responsible for hair.
