The T&T Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion will host a FI­FA Train­ing Com­pen­sa­tion and Sol­i­dar­i­ty Con­tri­bu­tion Work­shop on Sat­ur­day for lo­cal and re­gion­al clubs.

The work­shop will take place at Na­pari­ma Col­lege, San Fer­nan­do and will al­so be held in To­ba­go dur­ing that week at a venue and date to be fi­nal­ized. The work­shop will be con­duct­ed by Messrs Georg Froese and Jan Schwele.

It is manda­to­ry for all Pro League and Su­per League clubs to at­tend, but oth­er lo­cal clubs are al­so in­vit­ed to come. In­vi­ta­tions have al­so gone out to mem­ber as­so­ci­a­tions in the Caribbean Foot­ball Union.

The cost is $1,000 per per­son and each club is al­lowed two par­tic­i­pants. The dead­line for sub­mis­sion of en­try is Wednes­day and in­ter­est­ed per­sons can con­tact the TTFA at 623-9500 for more in­for­ma­tion.The TTFA be­lieves lo­cal clubs will ben­e­fit by be­ing ed­u­cat­ed on the process and it is hoped that there will be a strong turn out.

The term "sol­i­dar­i­ty pay­ments" is com­mon­ly used to de­scribe dis­tinct regimes for the dis­tri­b­u­tion of mon­ey with­in the foot­ball com­mu­ni­ty, in­clud­ing:

Sums payable to clubs in­volved in a play­er's train­ing, up­on a play­er reg­is­ter­ing for the first time as a pro­fes­sion­al play­er, or up­on the in­ter­na­tion­al trans­fer of a play­er be­fore the end of the sea­son of his 23rd birth­day, cal­cu­lat­ed by ref­er­ence to a spec­i­fied for­mu­la; and,

Sums payable to clubs in­volved in a play­er's train­ing and ed­u­ca­tion, up­on the in­ter­na­tion­al trans­fer of a play­er (pri­or to the ex­piry of his em­ploy­ment con­tract), cal­cu­lat­ed by ref­er­ence to the amount of the trans­fer com­pen­sa­tion.
