I am writing to express my frustration with the On-The-Job Training (OJT) programme. I am a past trainee who is yet to receive my stipend for the last month of service. What disheartens me the most is the lackadaisical manner in which the situation is being dealt with. Whenever I voice my concern, I am constantly reminded by the OJT officials that a stipend isn't a salary.
I seek to remind them that OJTs are at a disadvantage because we work hard and at the end of the month when its time to receive what's rightfully ours, we are unfairly treated. Is it too much to ask that I receive my final stipend so that I can cover expenses? Is it wrong of me to seek clarification on why I am yet to be paid? Is it too much for the officials at OJT to have some sort of compassion?
Come on, we can do better than that, OJT.
