Toco men plead not guilty to WASA metal theft

Four men from To­co ap­peared be­fore a San­gre Grande mag­is­trate on Mon­day ac­cused of steal­ing scrap met­al be­long­ing to the Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA). Troy Forbes, Ren­rick Baird, Ger­ald Prime and Michael Gorin plead­ed not guilty to charges of lar­ce­ny when they stood be­fore Mag­is­trate Ejen­ny Es­pinet.

They were each grant­ed $50,000 bail and or­dered to reap­pear in court on April 30. The ac­cused men were ar­rest­ed on March 31 on Arthur Street, Cumana. They are ac­cused of steal­ing met­al sheets from a wa­ter tank be­long­ing to WASA. The charges were laid by WASA es­tate cor­po­rals Estridge and Mal­oney.
