Luces is Criterium champ

Bike Smith's Bar­ry Luces was crowned the Na­tion­al Cri­teri­um cham­pi­on when he edged the Team Trek pair of Gavyn Nero and Gene Samuel to win the Blue Rib­bon Elite 24-lap event around King George V Park in St Clair on Sun­day.

His team­mate Kieana Lester was al­so in win­ner's row, tak­ing the Ladies' 4-Lap ti­tle. Oth­er win­ners on the day in­clud­ed Park­side's Justin Roberts (Ju­niors 20 Laps), Team Trek's Pat Nel­son (60+ Se­niors 16 Laps), Stephen Aboud (50+ Se­niors 16 Laps), De­gree Madon­na's Roger Smart (40+ Se­niors 16 Laps), Son­ics' Akiel Camp­bell (Ju­ve­niles 12 Laps) and Petrotrin's Ra­mon Bel­montes (Tinymites 8 Laps). Cy­cling ac­tion will re­sume on the week­end of Ju­ly 28 and 29 with the Na­tion­al BMX and Youth Cham­pi­onships at Skin­ner Park, San Fer­nan­do.
