Meanwhile, vice chairman of CAL Mohan Jaikaran yesterday said he had no intentions of resigning because he did not do anything wrong. Saying that he loved "Mr Warner," Jaikaran added, however: "As far as I am concerned, I am not resigning." Jaikaran said the truth behind the standoff will be revealed very soon by CAL chairman George Nicholas. "This will not go on much longer. Very shortly it will be settled."
Jaikaran was responding to statements made by Warner, who urged the board on Friday to do the ethical thing and resign. As the rift between Warner and CAL board widens, Jaikaran said he had no idea how the standoff would end. "I really don't know. I am going ahead with my job. I don't know where Mr Warner get his information from." Questioned if the CAL's board had branded Warner a liar, Jaikaran shot back: "I am not calling anybody a liar. I don't know who is saying that."
Asked how he felt about Warner, who likened the action of the board to those of former Udecott chairman Calder Hart, Jaikaran said he did not make any decision on any aircraft. "I don't know how he could say that." Jaikaran said he was not taking blame for anything. Jaikaran said he had no message for Warner. "I love Mr Warner. But I think he has to get his facts straight." Jaikaran said he was not fighting anybody. "It is Warner who is fighting," he said.
