US-based singer An­isha Joseph is lay­ing her heart on the line in song to en­cour­age every­one in her na­tive land, Trinidad, and be­yond to live in love.

Pre­ferred to be called An­isha, and pro­fes­sion­al­ly known as The God­dess of Love, An­isha re­leased Plea for Peace on all stream­ing plat­forms, not as a com­mer­cial sin­gle for sale, but shared strict­ly for pro­mo­tion­al pur­pos­es to spread a pos­i­tive mes­sage of peace, uni­ty, hope and love.

An­isha said she’s orig­i­nal­ly from one of to­day’s “hotspots” in T&T, and that the song is a cry from her heart, a hope for her home­land, and a call for uni­ty, bet­ter­ment and a hap­py fu­ture for all.

“To­geth­er we rise. To­geth­er we heal,” ex­pressed An­isha.

De­scribed as a soul­ful and dy­nam­ic record­ing artist whose pow­er­ful vo­cals, heart­felt song­writ­ing and cap­ti­vat­ing stage pres­ence con­tin­ue to con­nect with au­di­ences across cul­tures and mu­si­cal gen­res, An­isha has built a rep­u­ta­tion for de­liv­er­ing mu­sic that speaks to the heart while blend­ing el­e­ments of R&B, soul, reg­gae and Caribbean in­flu­ences.

Born and raised on Belle Eau Road, Bel­mont, An­isha dis­cov­ered her pas­sion for mu­sic at an ear­ly age and be­gan writ­ing and com­pos­ing songs as a teenag­er. At 15, her mu­si­cal jour­ney be­gan when she be­came one of the top three fi­nal­ists in the lo­cal tal­ent com­pe­ti­tion, Sum­mer Prom­e­nade.

Among the re­spect­ed pro­duc­ers she has worked with are Joe Miller, Michael Samuel (Mas­ter Mike) of Tuff Nut Stu­dio in Trinidad, and Ed Robin­son of E2 Record­ing Stu­dio in Brook­lyn, New York.

Af­ter mi­grat­ing to the Unit­ed States in 2006, she ex­pand­ed her mu­si­cal hori­zons and drew in­spi­ra­tion from icon­ic artists such as Ani­ta Bak­er, Toni Brax­ton, Ali­cia Keys, Lau­ryn Hill, Sade and Aretha Franklin, and she kept plug­ging away.

In 2007, An­isha was the open­ing act for So­ca Monarch cham­pi­on Shur­wayne Win­ches­ter at Bass Night Club in Brook­lyn, New York, per­form­ing her orig­i­nal reg­gae and R&B sin­gle, Life Eter­nal. In 2016, she be­came the first-ever New York Of­fice Star at KP­MG LLP’s in­ter­nal tal­ent com­pe­ti­tion with the same song.

Be­tween 2017 and 2020, An­isha re­leased four sin­gles: Be­tray­al, Crush, which evolved in­to a remix col­lab­o­ra­tion fea­tur­ing dance­hall artist Python, Dropped Tun Up, and My De­sire, in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Rev-Caribbean, in­clud­ing a mu­sic video on the My La­dy Rid­dim.

In 2022, An­isha tast­ed in­ter­na­tion­al suc­cess when she col­lab­o­rat­ed with Re­al VI on his al­bum Life Lessons and was fea­tured on the track Fol­low My Lead, which she co-wrote.

Con­sis­tent­ly us­ing her mu­sic to in­spire, up­lift and con­nect with au­di­ences around the world, An­isha’s pas­sion for sto­ry­telling and au­then­tic ex­pres­sion con­tin­ues to res­onate with lis­ten­ers who ap­pre­ci­ate mu­sic that speaks to the heart.

In pay­ing trib­ute to one of her great­est mu­si­cal in­flu­ences, Ani­ta Bak­er, An­isha most re­cent­ly teamed up with leg­endary reg­gae artist and pro­duc­er Ed Robin­son for the up­com­ing re­lease of one of her new sin­gles—a re­make of Bak­er’s Sweet Love on the Glob­al Dig­i­tal Records la­bel.

An­isha con­tin­ues to write, record and per­form mu­sic that up­lifts, in­spires and con­nects peo­ple through mes­sages of love, hope, em­pow­er­ment and au­then­tic­i­ty.

“In Plea for Peace I’m The God­dess of Love serv­ing as a voice plead­ing for peace on be­half of both T&T and the old­er gen­er­a­tion I rep­re­sent,” said An­isha.

“The mu­sic video de­picts youth strug­gling to con­front and cleanse him­self of sins tied to his past ac­tions and en­vi­ron­ment, but who ul­ti­mate­ly en­ters a re­newed and fresh be­gin­ning.

“My bright smile and T&T’s na­tion­al colours on my cheek serve as a pow­er­ful sym­bol of hope, ex­press­ing the be­lief that peace, love, uni­ty, and restora­tion are still pos­si­ble for T&T.”

Plea for Peace comes off the Hill & Gul­ly Rid­dim, com­posed by An­isha, pro­duced by Di Ge­nius (Stephen Mc­Gre­gor), record­ed by Ly­on Roar Pro­duc­tions, while the video was di­rect­ed by @di­rec­tordex.
