Amidst all the controversy concerning vaccination hesitancy, congregants of the Flaming Word Cathedral have expressed delight to return to their place of worship.
Dr Dave Alleyne, Bishop, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Flaming Word Cathedral, Vice President of the Caribbean Apostolic Council and former Head of the Central Interfaith Organisation issued a strong call for all Christians to move expeditiously and get vaccinated.
Alleyne along with his family and most of his congregation are fully vaccinated. He said he was extremely pleased with his congregation for responding positively to accept the vaccine as this was an indication of their desire to attend church and resume their religious and spiritual functions in health and safety to themselves and others.
“Being vaccinated does not affect our belief in Christ. In fact, it will demonstrate our willingness to protect lives and to get our nation and the world on the path to social and economic recovery,” he said.
He further added that all churches can become safe zones when all its members are fully vaccinated.
He advised Christians to trust in God but get vaccinated as he quoted Oliver Cromwell: “Trust in God, but keep your gun powder dry.”
