Two men were robbed by knife-toting bandits as they offloaded a garbage truck at the Beetham Landfill on Wednesday.

The victims were a 34-year-old of Tunapuna, and a 34-year-old of Cunupia.

The two were reportedly offloading waste material around 1 pm at the Port-of-Spain site, when they were allegedly approached by two men.

One of the men allegedly pulled a knife from his waist and pointed it at the victims, as he announced a robbery.

The suspects then proceeded to rob one man of a gold chain valued at $5,000, a gold wedding band valued at $3,500, a wallet valued at $200 which contained $17 cash and an iPhone 12 Pro cellphone valued at $4,500.

The second victim was robbed of a Samsung S10 cellphone valued at $2,000 and a pair of gloves also valued at $2,000.

The suspects later fled the scene by walking out of the site.
