Lots of food, people and activity could be found at the Blue Food Festival at the Bloody Bay Recreation Ground last Sunday (October 16).
Hosted by the Tobago Festivals Commission Ltd, the event highlighted the island’s native dasheen in all its glory.

From flying fish roll-ups stuffed with dasheen and dasheen anchar, to dasheen chips and dip and dasheen pepper sauce, the root crop was the event’s central focus. However, there were other provisions to be eaten at the festival, including plantains, along with an array of delicious cuisines.

Visitors also got to enjoy browsing and purchasing fresh produce from the farmers’ market.

In addition, the festival had live performances by several entertainers, including Ronnie McIntosh and Shurwayne Winchester and the Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra.

And the children were not left out, as there were several activities for them, including a bouncy castle, crafts, and a petting zoo.
This year was the festival’s 25th anniversary.
