The Trinidad and Tobago chess community mourns the passing of Cecil Lee Trinidad ‘s first chess Master And three time national champion. Lee passed away on Tuesday after a short illness. He was 81 years of age. Lee won the national championships in 1978 and 1984 And was runner up at least on four occasions. Lee earned his masters qualification when he performed creditably at the U.S. Open tournament Masters division where in 12 games of chess he only lost once. He won five games and drew 6. He was the chess association nominee for sportsman of the year on two occasions. Cecil leaves to mourn his three sons Clayton, Adrian and Richard Lee. He also has three grandchildren and two brothers Ivan and Reynold Lee.
