Scores of pilgrims from the St Philip and St James RC Church in Chaguanas recently made the journey to two sacred sites in south Trinidad.
As part of the continuing Jubilee Pilgrimage observances, the pilgrims travelled to both Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in San Fernando and the La Divina Pastora Church in Siparia.
Stopping first at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the pilgrims celebrated Mass with Father David Khan and his parishioners.
Following that experience, the pilgrims travelled further south, for the unique experience of worship at the La Divina Pastora Church.
Led by Deacon Mathura, the pilgrims participated in devotions with other pilgrim groups who converged on the venue that day. Many pilgrims also took the opportunity to say prayers to La Divina Pastora (Divine Shepherdess), the sacred statue of the Virgin Mary housed in the church.
It was truly a great day of fellowship and worship for the pilgrims, who now look forward to the next stop on their Jubilee Pilgrimage journey.
