Elegance, glamour and celebrity sparkle filled Achievors Banquet Hall in San Fernando on May 16, as the Rapidfire Kidz Foundation, in partnership with the Meena House Fine Dining Restaurant, rolled out the red carpet for its fundraising “Fashionista” event.
The sold-out affair delivered an afternoon of high fashion, entertainment and star-studded appearances, with prominent personalities stepping onto the runway in support of the foundation’s cause. Among those commanding attention on the runway were former Miss Universe 1977 Janelle “Penny” Commissiong, social media influencer Anastasia Mootoo, actress Penelope Spencer, Dr Sherene Kalloo, Miss Universe T&T 2023 Faith Gillezeau, Miss Universe T&T 2025 Latia Morris, international model Soowan Bramble, former government ministers Stacy Roopnarine and Donna Cox, and singer Michelle Xavier. Also adding her flair to fashion parade was Tisha Dowlath, the wife of Education Minister Michael Dowlath, while members of the foundation also proudly strutted down the runway in a vibrant display.
Guests were treated to stunning collections from local designers Neha Karina, Heather Jones International and Zadd and Eastman.
Some 400 guests attended the event dressed to impress and were entertained by performances from saxophonist Francis Prime, singers Ancil Valley and Joel John, and pannist Rawle Motilal.
Foundation president Kevin Ratiram, alongside former media personality Shelly Dass-Manning, served as masters of ceremonies, keeping the audience engaged with humour and lively banter throughout the event. Several prizes were also presented, including an autographed Brian Lara bat, champagne and vouchers for clothing and fine dining.
