El­e­gance, glam­our and celebri­ty sparkle filled Achie­vors Ban­quet Hall in San Fer­nan­do on May 16, as the Rapid­fire Kidz Foun­da­tion, in part­ner­ship with the Meena House Fine Din­ing Restau­rant, rolled out the red car­pet for its fundrais­ing “Fash­ion­ista” event.

The sold-out af­fair de­liv­ered an af­ter­noon of high fash­ion, en­ter­tain­ment and star-stud­ded ap­pear­ances, with promi­nent per­son­al­i­ties step­ping on­to the run­way in sup­port of the foun­da­tion’s cause. Among those com­mand­ing at­ten­tion on the run­way were for­mer Miss Uni­verse 1977 Janelle “Pen­ny” Com­mis­siong, so­cial me­dia in­flu­encer Anas­ta­sia Mootoo, ac­tress Pene­lope Spencer, Dr Sherene Kalloo, Miss Uni­verse T&T 2023 Faith Gillezeau, Miss Uni­verse T&T 2025 La­tia Mor­ris, in­ter­na­tion­al mod­el Soowan Bram­ble, for­mer gov­ern­ment min­is­ters Sta­cy Roop­nar­ine and Don­na Cox, and singer Michelle Xavier. Al­so adding her flair to fash­ion pa­rade was Tisha Dowlath, the wife of Ed­u­ca­tion Min­is­ter Michael Dowlath, while mem­bers of the foun­da­tion al­so proud­ly strut­ted down the run­way in a vi­brant dis­play.

Guests were treat­ed to stun­ning col­lec­tions from lo­cal de­sign­ers Ne­ha Ka­ri­na, Heather Jones In­ter­na­tion­al and Zadd and East­man.

Some 400 guests at­tend­ed the event dressed to im­press and were en­ter­tained by per­for­mances from sax­o­phon­ist Fran­cis Prime, singers An­cil Val­ley and Joel John, and pan­nist Rawle Moti­lal.

Foun­da­tion pres­i­dent Kevin Rati­ram, along­side for­mer me­dia per­son­al­i­ty Shelly Dass-Man­ning, served as mas­ters of cer­e­monies, keep­ing the au­di­ence en­gaged with hu­mour and live­ly ban­ter through­out the event. Sev­er­al prizes were al­so pre­sent­ed, in­clud­ing an au­to­graphed Bri­an Lara bat, cham­pagne and vouch­ers for cloth­ing and fine din­ing.
