Do you like airplanes? Does the idea of flying excite you? Or do you simply marvel at the ingenuity of an aircraft?
Well, Savannah Aero Concepts TT (SACTT) is inviting you to join them at the Mike De Freitas RC Field in Frederick Settlement, Caroni, for their “Introduction to Flying Radio Controlled Airplanes” session today from 2-6 pm to experience the flight of radio-controlled (RC) airplanes and helicopters to drones control—line and free flight models—offering opportunities to explore aerodynamics, engineering, and precision flying.
SACTT secretary Christian Chacha says it is more than a flying club. “It’s a warm, supportive community. Partnerships with schools such as Fatima College’s Aviation Club inspire youth through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education, and regular meet-ups bring together enthusiasts of all ages.”
SACTT is a Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA)-approved facility that plays a role in introducing young people to opportunities within the aviation industry. While many perceive the non-profit organisation as a hobbyist group, it goes beyond leisure, serving as an educational platform that inspires and prepares the next generation of pilots, engineers, and aviation professionals.
He added: “It’s ideal for newcomers of all ages. The Introduction to Flying RC Airplanes session offers a perfect entry point into a rewarding hobby that can grow into a lifelong passion.”
The event offers attendees practical flying experience in a safe, controlled environment. The session also features demonstrations of various model aircraft types—from stable trainer planes to aerobatic models—offering insight into the variety and capabilities of the hobby.
There will also be opportunities to interact with people in the aviation industry for anyone who desires to learn from actual pilots, engineers and other professionals in the industry.
The session also introduces the technology, craftsmanship, and aerodynamics behind RC flying.
“Flying RC airplanes is an exciting hobby that offers something for everyone—whether you’re chasing adventure, spending quality time with family, or eager to learn something new. It’s a chance to get outdoors, enjoy the fun of flight, and create unforgettable memories together,” says Chacha.
Bring the entire family and enjoy a fun-filled day of aircraft appreciation.
