Janae Campbell was crowned Ms Tobago Heritage Personality 2021 on September 11. Campbell, who represented the Roxborough Police Youth Club, said she was elated that she won: “Immediately before the results were read, my heart began to palpitate very vigorously amidst the adrenaline rush.
“When they reached to second place and I saw that it was Nalia, at that point, I knew I won and within a split second screamed so loudly that I probably woke up my neighbours.
“I was overwhelmed by feelings of jubilance and hysteria and I began exclaiming, ‘We did it!’ Shortly after, my mother rushed out of her room and together we jumped, danced and exclaimed as we celebrated my victory.”
