The name Toni SuratS­ingh is one that many may be fa­mil­iar with lo­cal­ly and in­ter­na­tion­al­ly, but when it comes to her mind, pas­sion, cre­ativ­i­ty and con­fi­dence, many are not aware of how far her stretch takes her.

Co-founder of and cre­ative di­rec­tor for Toni Crock­ett De­sign (TCD, for­mer­ly Ton­ic De­signs), SuratS­ingh es­tab­lished her busi­ness along­side her hus­band Rishi SuratS­ingh, al­so a co-founder but the di­rec­tor.

The oth­er in­te­ri­or de­sign­ers are Brid­gette Con­stan­tine and Ce­line Singh.

Since ear­ly teen, Toni re­alised her cre­ative side. She fer­vent­ly re-dec­o­rat­ed her room, re­arranged fur­ni­ture, and paint­ed mu­rals on her bed­room walls lead­ing her to be­lieve that she would choose a cre­ative ca­reer.

The Tri­ni-Cana­di­an Toni stud­ied in Cana­da; com­plet­ed rel­e­vant pro­grammes while work­ing long re­tail hours and go­ing to night school to help pay her own way, she ex­pressed. Even­tu­al­ly sur­ren­der­ing the long re­tail hours, she be­gan fine-tun­ing her de­sign tal­ents with­in the de­sign and home in­dus­tries.

Be­ing a colour con­sul­tant for Ben­jamin Moore Paints among ex­pe­ri­ences in­ter­na­tion­al­ly, laid the ground­work for the in­cep­tion of Toni Crock­ett De­sign Ltd, she ex­plained.

“I de­vel­oped a per­son­al pas­sion for ex­cel­lence in client ser­vice and de­liv­ery of a high-qual­i­ty fin­ished prod­uct, and now al­most eleven years lat­er, TCD has col­lab­o­rat­ed with a di­verse clien­tele to achieve a bal­ance of bold yet at­tain­able de­sign. Giv­en my pas­sion for cre­at­ing a de­sign­er aes­thet­ic that suits each client, TCD has mas­tered the del­i­cate art of com­bin­ing form with func­tion. We are known in the in­dus­try for our abil­i­ty to cre­ate in­spir­ing spaces that not on­ly con­nect to peo­ple but re­late in­ti­mate­ly to the per­son­al­i­ty of its clients.”

TCD is said to have built a rep­u­ta­tion and gained a com­pet­i­tive ad­van­tage in the de­sign in­dus­try over the past decade with its unique com­bi­na­tion of qual­i­fi­ca­tions, skills and colour­ful work ex­pe­ri­ence, with a de­sign ap­proach that cre­ates a space that re­flects the in­di­vid­ual tastes of its clients.

Awards: The Caribbean Prop­er­ty Awards for Best Res­i­den­tial In­te­ri­or Pri­vate Res­i­dence St Kitts and Nevis for The Ca­su­al­ly Craft­ed Project 2020-2021, and again, in 2021, the Luz Mag­a­zine Life’s Most Out­stand­ing In­te­ri­or De­sign Com­pa­ny in the Caribbean.
