The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts presented “Junction Village” as part of this year’s Independence celebrations.
Written in 1954 by Rupert Douglas Archibald, Junction Village is a comedic play, set in the 1950’s, with an elaborate set designed by Narad Mahabir. It tells the story of loved ones and friends gathering to pay their respects to Grannie Gombo who is believed to be close to death.
It also delves into the characters of the individuals gathered in the house.
The cast included Arnold Goindhan, Nickolai Salcedo, Syncyche Bishop, Shivonne Churche-Issacs, Chanel Glasgow, Nicole Carter, Kearn Samuel, Marvin Dowridge, Jarod Baptiste, Nicholas Subero, Patti-Anne Ali, Ruby Paris and Nataki Lendor.
The play was performed by The National Theatre Arts Company of Trinidad And Tobago at NAPA on Wednesday, August 24. GML photographer Edison Boodoosingh was there and captured these photos.
