A Westmoorings woman passed away on Tuesday, hours after her car crashed.
Elizabeth De Vignes, 77, of Dolphin Court, Westmoorings, was reportedly proceeding west along Ocean Drive, Westmoorings, around 10.38 am on November 26, when she reportedly lost control of her car.
Des Vignes’ grey Honda Civic crashed into a cluster of palm trees on the southern side of Ocean Drive, causing damage to the front of the vehicle.
The injured woman was assisted by passers-by who took her to the St James Infirmary around noon.
As her car was being taken to the Four Roads Police Station, officers were dispatched to the hospital to get a statement from Des Vignes.
Upon arrival, they were informed by medical officials that Des Vignes had passed away, and her body was transferred to the Port-of-Spain Mortuary
