An agreement has been signed by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the T&T Transparency Institute (TTTI) for a partnership to promote the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and ethics in business.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) will also provide opportunity for skills development and the advancement of the CSR agendas of both institutions. They will co-operate in the areas of professional training, social outreach and the hosting of joint awareness workshops.
ACCA president Anthony Harbinson said: "MOU agreements such as this one allow ACCA to carry out valuable and necessary work. ACCA has developed a substantial global network of accountancy partnerships which are central to our ability to deliver qualifications internationally. More importantly, they play a vital role in contributing to the development of the accountancy profession.
"The ultimate aim of our partnership is to promote integrity, transparency and anti-corruption, areas in which accountants and financial professionals have a critical role to play. ACCA is very excited by the potential of working with TTTI, and we look forward to a long, happy and productive partnership."
TTTI chairman Deryck Murray said: "As the national chapter of Transparency International, the global anti-corruption body, we are committed to working towards 'a world in which business, politics, government and the daily lives of people are free of corruption.' We see this partnership with ACCA as an integral part of building a strong network to advance the reality of a country which displays the highest levels of values and principles on a consistent basis."
