Laurent Meffre has resigned as the managing director of The West Indian Tobacco Company Ltd.
In a notice posted to the T&T Stock Exchange, the company says his resignation will take effect from September 30.
According to the notice, Meffre will be stepping down to pursue another opportunity within the British American Tobacco (BAT) Group.
Meffre, a French national, joined Witco on January 27, 2020, as general manager. He was appointed a director of the company on April 1, 2020.
In another notice to the Stock Exchange, Witco named Raoul Glynn as a director and confirmed he would be Meffre’s replacement as the managing director of the company.
His appointment will take effect from October 1, 2022.
Like Meffre, prior to his appointment to Witco, Glynn served in several senior roles in the BAT Group, including as managing director of Carreras Ltd, Jamaica and as the country manager of Carisma Marketing Services (CMS) where he had responsibility for 21 markets in the English, French and Dutch speaking Caribbean. The notices stated Glynn brings 20 years of international management experience in trade, marketing and distribution.
