Shell: Commissioning work for Poinsettia begins in January

Shell Trinidad and To­ba­go Lim­it­ed has an­nounced that com­mis­sion­ing work on the Poin­set­tia Plat­form will be­gin in Jan­u­ary.

In a no­tice pub­lished by Shell and BG In­ter­na­tion­al, the com­pa­ny an­nounced that on or around Jan­u­ary 6, 2022, “the Skan­di Con­trac­tor ves­sel will be sup­port­ing sub­sea sys­tem com­mis­sion­ing ac­tiv­i­ties start­ing near the Poin­set­ta Plat­form.”

The Poin­set­tia plat­form is the largest fa­cil­i­ty ever built or in­stalled in Trinidad and To­ba­go wa­ters. It is lo­cat­ed off the North West coast of Trinidad in 530 feet of wa­ter.

The Plat­form achieved first gas in De­cem­ber 2008.

The no­tice con­tin­ued the ves­sel will be work­ing along the route via the Or­chid Field in NC­MA 4 to the Cass­ra Well Site in Block 22.

Shell said this work is ex­pect­ed to con­tin­ue un­til March 31, 2022.

The com­pa­ny stat­ed that once the com­mis­sion­ing work is com­plet­ed, the ves­sel will re­turn to Ch­aguara­mas for de­mo­bil­i­sa­tion.
